we use an extraction machine. or an 11" rotary if HSE arent looking 

Have also had good success with Chemspec Spotting Pads (little square bonnets) and cheap orbital sanders.

Biggest problem with hand held kit I have found is you burn em out by putting too much weight on them.

Mike Halliday posted an advert for a mini " whacker " which could actually be a very good idea used with towelling. I imported a machine years ago from the US which worked on the same principle but chucked it out as it was too light for general carpet cleaning.

I missed one of these on here recently Jason and I reckon it might have allowed me to keep working for a couple of more years doing just upholstery / rugs.

Hate to admit it but I'm struggling to do more than one smallish job per day and I thought that machine would have been ideal.
