Ninja upgrade
« on: August 10, 2011, 07:37:05 pm »
Evening Gentlemen!
I have an old Ninja contractor (70psi) collecting dust in the shed.
I'd like to replace the pump for a bigger one, 135psi or more so I could use it on the odd jobs. It looks fairly straightforward, but I would like to hear some opinions on that.
If it is possible to do that can you recommend a reliable pump what I should use?

Thanks in advance!

an easy job, you should be able to do a straight swop for a 135psi shurflo or flojet,

maybe a need for an upgrade of the outlet solution line to handle the extra Psi

Thanks!
Solution hose is rated up to 400psi. It should do the trick.

If it's been gathering dust dust just check the hose for perishing etc.

I will check and clean everything, replace seals and the gatevalve (dripping all over the place). I have to find a decent pump for a decent price now.

I think you might be limited to the 135psi Shurflo, not sure you'd get anything bigger in it space-wise or due to load on the wiring circuit.  Maybe speak to Ashbys?

Have you checked the rest of the machine is OK before you change the pump?  Would be a real bummer to do that and then find something else is wrong that writes the machine off!
