Hi to all

Ive got a job coming up to clean several cotton print suites and in the past have struggled to get decent results.

I know chemspec sell a specific 'cotton cleaning' product, can anyone recommend it? or is it no different from a standard upholstery cleaning fluid.

All advice much appreciated.

That Chemspec Cotton Cleaner is a bit whiffy, have you tried the fibre shampoo/fibre buff/oxibrte on one similar?

Chemspec Haitian Cotton Cleaner certainly does the job. It does smell a bit as stated. Use the Haitian Cotton Shampoo for the heavy soiled areas and extract/rinse with the extraction cleaner.

I used to use the Prochem Shampoo/Oxibrite/Fibrebuff method after extraction cleaning until I heard about the above.

Do people still have cotton print? I remember in the days when I was doing domestic cleaning I used to get loads of local cleaners putting folk on to me to clean them.

If its not cream/white fabric Chemspec Fast Drying Upholstery Shampoo gives good results too I should add.

The Extraction cleaner is still available.

Its the shampoo variant that was withdrawn.

Sometimes the print has faded in colour too mate and sometimes they just wont come up..

Prochem fabric restorer is one of the best brighteners you can get for cotton print it really is quite spectacular.
One of the industries most valuable secrets.

Well it's not a secret now!!

I think Clinton has made a very good point.  The print wears off, which can sometimes look like the area is dirty.  The more you clean it, the worse it'll get!

Added to this, the fabric may have been degraded/weakened, especially the bits stretched over the contact points of the arms, so care is needed.  Have walked from a few that were starting to split.

Remember if you're stepping in to the world of "problem solvers" on cotton prints to do a wet crock test using whatever solutions you're planning to use for the job.  Have seen many a colour rub off on a terry towel testing the ideal product I'd like to use.  This, to be honest, is the biggest limiter in results on a lot of cotton prints!

Hi! You can look for a good product to use in channeling. I heard that Haitian and Tahitian cotton upholstery can be an option and a powdered Chemspec Haitian Cotton Upholstery detergent.
