Some People drive you mad
« on: June 14, 2011, 08:34:07 pm »
A job booked for 9.30am tommorow has just rang and cancelled  (8.26pm) second time they have done this.

What do they think we do for a living pick money from trees!

Too late to re arrange work and the annoying thing is a customer booked for next week asked if i could do tomorow.

May be its just me but some of them just p..s me off.

Mine will be shortly going to test the old grey matter at the village pub quiz.

As for a lie in, no chance my 7 year old will still be up at 7 am.

I`d rather be working, currently stacked out and dont like hanging about on a morning.

We have one customer (well, she's not really a customer as we don't actually ever get to clean her carpets) who books us and then ALWAYS calls at about 10 the night before to cancel. Now when she rings up I don't bother writing it in the diary.

And we heard a funny story the other day. An electrician who did some work for a lady and she paid the bill very promptly which was great for him, except she had deducted £2 off the bill for the two cups of tea she gave him!

Believe it or not,I sometimes knock a bit off for people who make me a cup of t,when it comes to settling the bill I say oh knock a couple pf £ off what I first said, they always laugh and sometimes give me a tip.
Really gets my back up when a custy makes themselves one and don't bother asking

Are you for real ;D I presume this has happened two or more times.
Sorry but it's twice and out for me and they've been told that too.

I had a mad old guy used to be my phone pest!  I kid you not, I have about 10 numbers stored under his name in my phone so I can ignore them!

He used to call at stupid times like 11pm or 6am, Sundays, Bank Holidays, the works......

After about 9 months of ignoring his calls he got the message I think!!

Call last night approx. 8pm, late but not a problem.
Wants a price for EOT cleaning incl. carpets. Explained the best way to provide an accurate price was for a visit.
Find out its 20-25 miles away but luckily going there today for another job so asks her if I can come and see it then.
Can't do weekdays, only evenings after 6.30pm, told her I can't really get to her for that time of the evening so how about the weekend?
Can't really do the weekends she says   ???
So I politely tell her she will need to find someone else.

Not sure when she was planning on having it done if she can't do weekdays or weekends  :-\

Whats the most common excuses for cancelling,
1. Child ill
2. Decorator not finished
3. Vets appointment

Come on sure there is more !!!

Hospital appointment is always number 1 for cancellations for me and yes Jim I seem to attract nutters as well, had a woman who used to call and ask me to give her a quote then call later to book work in then cancel it a day or so later, this went on quite a few times (quote, call later to book, call even later and cancel)

Had a no-show first thing Monday morning this week.  Literally 200m away from my own house, she walks past my house 4 times a day taking her kid to/from school.

I put a note through and a card, politely asked her to re-book but 4 days later not a peep.  Those are the ones that wind me up the most.

Only thing that will make me be polite is the fact that I'm always out the front on my driveway, fiddling with the van/TM or loading up kit etc.  Two trips a day to/from school means she walks past my drive 20 times a week, there's a high probability of bumping in to each other!  Don't really want to be throwing evils at each other!

Plus I'm trying to get in with the school for carpet cleaning, which knocks on to the parents sometimes, don't want to cause any ripples in the pond.

The things we have to do for money!
