kirby zip problem
« on: June 08, 2011, 12:02:44 pm »
Does anyone know how to strip the kirby zip brush as mine keeps jamming up? i can get it to 3 pieces (the handle, the outer ring and the inner mech) i could do with opening the inner mech up that spins so i can clear out the bits off wool, hair etc as this is stopping it from spinning freely.
So does anyone know if its poss to open it or is it one unit?
Cheers!

When you take out the centre spinning section you should be able to push down the bit with the 3 small brushes on it. The centre fixing will not go down with the rest, but if you put a flathead screwdriver underneath it you can wedge it off and this dismantles the whole mechanism.

Be carefull though, this whole mechanism is sprung so hold it tightly when taking it apart. Also, the zip brush will not work properly and won't vibrate at all if not reassembled EXACTLY the way it was before it was dismantled.

Hope that helps.

No problem, I used to be the service engineer for Kirby in Northern Ireland, any other problems with the whole machine give me a shout.
