leisure batteries for pumps

does anyone use a leisure battery to power pump & varistream if so do they charge up at night or connect to alternator

i do just changed battery had the last one for 4 years my new one i have on a split charger always look at the amps and for the three weeks had it never needed to charge by mains

I use a submarine battery (basically a high capacity leisure battery) which weighs nearly as much as I do. Charge it about once a week on the truck with a mains charger. Did have a split charging system but I don't really go far enough to make an appreciable difference to charge it up.

i use 110 a leisure battery i charge it up about every 2 1/2 weeks charge it from the mains takes about8 hours
