« on: May 07, 2011, 07:48:31 pm »
Or8 lads n lasses, i'm new to this site, so just a lil bit about me.. I'm Shaun , a 40 yr from Doncaster , married for last 15 yrs and got two lads... At the moment i.m working in a factory and have been for last 8 yrs... I.m looking at starting my own round up ( W.F.P ), but only have a car  for transport at the moment.. I.ve got the funds to buy a trolley system from pure freedom , but i.m not sure if to upgrade to the hxtel 24 ( hybrid ) pole.. Any feed back most welcome  lads n lasses,,,kind regards,,Shaun........ :)

I think alot of us would recommend not getting the pole at all and buying one else where. GARDINER POLE SYSTEMS make very good poles and depending on your budget they do a cheaper range of poles half glass fibre half carbon the best range of budget poles IMO, If you have a bit more money go for one of there full carbon range. All im saying is give them a look there is plenty of info about them on this forum. all the best. Dan

Or8 Dan,,thanks for your reply mate.. I.ve got £1000/£1200 to spend and i thought the trolley system from p f would be best for me as i only have the car at the moment ( i gotta start somewhere,  ;D )..because it's a full trolley system, a pole comes with it and i just thought the hybrid would be a bit lighter to work with, than the glass fibre one..Would i be better of building up a trolley system, regards, Shaun :)

Do you have any customers yet? I would be more concerned in finding a small data base first of possible customers.  before spending £1200.

Cheers for that link dan, i'm not sure bout the trolley, as i need to be able to change the water barrels, but i will defo look into the poles, thanks again...  "S",  getting custies wont be a problem, i can charm the birds out of the trees  ;D and as long as i give them a quality service, word of mouth is the best form of advertising in my experience..As i've already said, i'm working full time in a factory ( a few lads are intrested already ) and i will be doing windows on saturdays, so i've got time to build up a round , regards, Shaun....

not sure about customers first
when i started went out on my first day canvassing and had 2 custies say can you clean today

how would that look if i turned round and said ---sorry have do sometime next month as i have no kit and have never cleaned a window before

but take advice and have a look around before buying a decent brush head is essential after all
all the rest is doing is pushing water from a to b

your man needs to purchase his kit to practice

I agree, i would get some training though, i went on a course at ionics but i would try and get some propper on the job training with a local windy near you as the ionic course does`nt have a great deal of actually cleaning windows in it, get some kit sorted and get out there knocking/leafleting you will soon build a round up if your determined enough!!

All the best with it mate :)

I have the PF 25ltr trolley & it soon gets through the water - I take out 10 barrels & at times need to refill & that mostly fills my Kangoo

A car will be difficult - you need to carry quite a lot of items i think & awkward if its used as the family car..

The PF fibre glass poles are far too heavy/whippy & get painfull for daily use, although fairly well made.
