Well there will be an SL2 modular going for sale in the near future (not necessarily on ebay).
Watch this space.
Imperfect condition as some joint ends look a bit tatty but works perfectly OK.  Would be possible for new owner to order and fit those end rings from Gardiners to strengthen it.  Hozelock style fitting on the end but obviously can be changed to suit whatever you use.
I won't be using a courier though as that's too much hassle.
Anyone wanting it would need to be able to receive delivery from me, collect from me, or meet half way if the distance was reasonable.  Cash only or pre-payment by bank transfer.  Not hiding anything.  Receipt would be issued and put through books.
Probably won't be available for another week or two.
Not sure re price yet but would obviously be a considerable saving on a new one.
Although I prefer telescopic poles, at least with modular ones you can replace/repair the occasional section if there's a problem.
I suppose it could end up like Trig's broom in Only Fools and Horses i.e. he had the same broom for 20+ years but he was on his 4th handle and 7th head.

What's the length of the SL2, Paul?

Think it's around 55ft.  It's all the usual first 6 sections plus four of the identical beefy ones.
Just checked Gardiner's site and it's what they call the SL57 (62ft working height).

It's here: http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/SL_Chart_and_Image.jpg

Apologies to mods if I wasn't supposed to post the link.  I'm not trying to advertise for anyone.  I'm just clarifying a second hand item that I'm likely to be selling soon.

I'm Surrey/Sussex borders (nr Gatwick).
Before promising this to anyone in particular, I do want to post pics of it (not for a few days yet) - particularly some of the section ends - as i want to be totally up front about it being less than perfect.
It's not just about accepting the highest offer.  It's also about the ease of making the transfer of the goods.  e.g. if I had to travel 50 miles (100 mile round trip) to meet someone part way, someone closer might offer a bit less which could be more acceptable to me.
Also, I do want to explore how much it might be worth before committing.
What I will say though is that once I've shaken on a deal (whether in person or electronically), I will keep my word even if a better offer is made afterwards.
This is all still probably a week or so away so please be patient.  I will publicise it well once I start the ball rolling.
