Talk about mixed messages!
I'm working on some 1930's bay windowed terraces this am - in blocks of six or four - and a guy pulls up about 100 metres away on the opposite side of the road and pulls a ladder out of the Zafira and puts it so that the top is about 2ft below the upper window cill.
I surreptitiously watch him as I pole away on my side of the street.
He climbs the ladder so that he can do the main pane below the transom, misses the transom completely and wipes it with a cloth, uses the same cloth to wipe the cill and then climbs down.
In the time it has taken me to do the top two bays and two upper bedroom windows of adjoining houses he has put his ladder on the front facet of the bay and to one side so that he can reach round and do half the bay.
He then gets an applicator on a 3ft pole and does the front and side face of the upper bay and leaves the far pane and all the transoms completely!

I've now finished the fronts of my two houses and am reeling out to do another house front four doors away and closer to him.
He now does the lower bay - using the same rag to wipe its transoms and then applicating and blading the bottoms. he then wipes the cill with the rag and ignores the door completely. Then he writes something down and puts it through the door and drives off.
So in the time it has taken me to do the fronts of three houses he has "done" one front, not touched the upper or side frames missed out the upper transom windows and the upper bay on one side; then he has re-arranged the dirt on the rest! Oh, and missed the door!

Yet he's got a "10" plate Zafira to work from - I must be doing something wrong!
