How do you reach fascia with TFR?
« on: April 16, 2011, 07:54:03 pm »
As above really. Got a job on Thursday. Do you spray it from the floor or use an old pole??

Fascia only, really green though

i fill a barrel and use my trolley to get it up there, SAJ used a garden sprayer with an old pole which is a good idea.

I may be alone in this, but my experience of even the greenest fascias and gutters is that if I run along them giving them a soak with pure water, then by the time I go back to the start and scrub, the dirt just comes off.

In light of that, I don't use any chemical on them.

Am I missing something?  Have other people tried both methods and found TFR speeds things up?

Genuine question, by the way...

same as you I was using just water and didn't see a problem. Having used tfr I won't be looking back. For brackets it is good stuff. Also it does speed things up
if it is dirty it is fair game

while i agree that pure (and ordinary tap) water will remove green and grime there is a destinct difference
in the amount of scrubbing required - usually on sun baked finials and wooden painted fascia's.

a good squirt of tfr speeds up the process on the hardest parts of the job. the same goes for windows on 1st
cleans i can do without tfr but the job takes longer to scrub out the frames and built up grime on the glass.

if the wooden fascia is green or black the trf just penetrates the dirt and far less scrubbing is required - painted wood surfaces
