Hi guys is anybody using this type off pump i have just had one and would welcome your views on them if you have one. i have set it up today and runs a treat only using 3 amps and 5 ltr per Min thanks

I,ve got one.Been using since Nov. It froze on the inlet and exit and i mistakenly ran it but it didn't break.
Great pumps IMHO.

thanks for the info guys. i ran the pump today and it seems to be working ok  so time will tell the customer service is second to none from that place so no problems with that.

Please can you tell me what the make and model of the pump is now you have it. There must be a spec sheet on the net somewhere. The spec Vyair puts up on the website is a current draw of 3amps, but despite asking twice, I haven't received any further info from them as that seems a little low to me.
According to Shurflo, the pumps I have always used, their pumps draw 2.3amps at 0 psi and 6.2amps at 100 psi.
If the Vyair only draws 3 amps at 100 psi then the battery will last longer.

Hi mate the 3amp draw is at 100psi from what i have been told by the company . the volts drop down by 0.4 when turned on at full power so from what i can make of it. it uses s very little if you need any more info i will try and help out as much as i can

Hi spruce the 7l pump is also a 3 amp draw same as the 5l. the amp draw starts to rise above the 7l these are the details


5lt 3 amp
7lt 3amp
7lt 8amp
10lt 8amp
12lt 8amp

I see on the manufacturers website they don't list a 12vdc pump. The specs for an EC-RV-05L 24vdc pump are:
0 psi     5 lpm      1.9 amps
10psi    4 lpm      2.2 amps
20psi    3 lpm      2.6 amps
30psi    2 lpm      2.9 amps
40psi    1.5 lpm   3.4 amps 

If this was a 12vdc pump then the amperage draw would double.

Also not sure what they have done differently to increase flow at the higher pressure of 100 psi! Prehaps it not the same pump but I can't find anything else.

I was tempted to look at something cheaper, but my gut feel says that I should stay with Shurflo.

i see what you mean just been on there website and all the pumps are 24 volts but i can tell you that mine dose have 12 on the sticker and it works ok of the 12 volt battery must be a typo on there behalf  . Dave

12v pump would draw 5.8 amps which is quite a high current draw (pump spec is for 24vdc). The pump has a pressure switch set for 80psi on - 100psi off. It doesn't look as though it is adjustable. Whilst I understand what you want to achieve, I'm not sure if you will be able to do it in practice.
When testing the pump, they will start a 0 psi and see the amp draw under those conditions. They will then restrict that pipe to record a pump line pressure and see what the motor draws at that pressure to the restrictor. The trouble is you have to calculate how to duplicate that same pressure but with additional restrictions such as hose length , brush jets and height of work surface.
Got to be an electronic controller IMHO
