Removing the displays isnt really an option as they are bolted in and each sewing machine has spot lights fitted

As far as I can see - without removing those displays any attempt at cleaning those inner tops will look awful and that is how you need to explain it to the manager.

If they really want them done then they are going to have to move stuff to let you gain access.
It's a game of three halves!

Can't you have your applicator/squeegee on an angled gooseneck type arrangement with a very short bit of pole and do the tops from where you stand doing the bottoms?

nope, the glass has a film on it making it tricky to squegee even by hand, i would be left with lots of smears if attempted with pole

damp scrim draped over a 14"dry applicator with a wagtail angle arm or 2 to bring the angle around

I don't know why you're bothering, nobody else would. If you can't get access, you can't clean them.

I'd just go off to the next straight forward job. If they want them cleaned that badly, then they'll move it.

Do you like a challenge or something?

Since going wfp I begrudge even getting my ladders off let alone cleaning that lot!
