longest transfer hose
« on: April 04, 2011, 10:49:26 pm »
is there a maximum distance you can run a transfer hose?

I am possibly buying a house that i wont be able to park near to fill the tank from the outside tap so i will have to have a storage tank in the garden and transfer it into the van each night, the tank will be at the bottom of the garden but i will have to run a transfer hose form it down the allyway at the back (only 1 house next to the one im looking to buy) to the van which i will be able to park right by the alleyway.

im no idea at measuring distances but transfer hoses come in 10m, but incase its further than that, will the pump handle it?

In my old house I had to run a 50 meter length of 1 inch hose, and the pump handled it fine.  Having a hose reel that was made for the job made reeling out and back in a little easier though.
