Nice one.
I see you've brought the window cleaning technique over to the carpet cleaning ie back up your leaflet drop with a door knock a few days later to ensure they 'got the leaflet.'
This also puts a face for the customer to see which helps and it also gets around the cold calling rules which apply in some areas.

yes neil the old tools come in handy -- forgot to say aslo got asked in a big house for a £20 window clean plus   £55 carpet clean , she said she will get back to me.

i think for the carpet's with the higher ticket price this way has to be a no brainer from now on

One thing i did do is say i cant clean them before seven days due to the door knocking/ cold calling  law so they can have a cooling of time ,

just some info if you pluck up the courage lol

The Regulations are aimed at traders who enter into a contract with a consumer at their home or workplace. They also cover contracts made at another individual’s home or on an excursion organised by the trader away from their business premises. The Regulations cover contracts that are made during both solicited and unsolicited visits by traders. Specifically, the Regulations:

replace the Consumer Protection (Cancellation of Contracts concluded away from Business Premises) Regulations 1987;

extend the cooling-off periods and cancellation rights for consumers to apply to all contracts with a total payment of more than £35 made during a solicited or unsolicited visit by a trader;

set the cooling off period at 7 days both for contracts made as a result of unsolicited or solicited visits by traders;

require that a notice of the right to cancel the contract be prominently and clearly displayed in any written contract or provided in writing if there is no written contract;
• apply widely - all traders, including builders, plumbers, carpenters etc, who enter into a contract with a consumer (whether oral or written) in the consumer’s home or place of work (or at the home of another individual) or on an excursion organised by the trader and away from the trader’s business premises are likely to be affected;

If the trader fails to comply with the Regulations he commits a criminal offence for which Trading Standards may be able to take enforcement action including prosecution (level 5 fine of up to £5000).
In effect, if a consumer changes their mind about a purchase above the value of £35, they have at least 7 calendar days to cancel the contract (the ‘cooling-off’ period). It does not matter whether the consumer invited the trader into their home or not – the Regulations cover both solicited (invited) and unsolicited (uninvited visits or ‘cold calling’). A trader must advise the consumer in writing that they can cancel the contract – this information must

 John think you are taking the cooling off period a bit to far right to cancal is 7 days
but if you do it next day imo it means you cant charge a fee if you turn up and they cancel
not you have to wait 7 days to do the job
