I've not done that much commercial work myself as i have been going less than a year.If it helps i will give you a few examples of prices of commercial office work i have done since i started.Last year i treated com work as a bonus, still do to a certain extent as com work is usually done at weekends or late at night.Last year for example i did 2000sqft of office for £270,which i did in a day 9-5.30 ish.Like i said i treated them as a bonus and allways put in a high-ish price because i had plenty of domestic and tbh i find office commercial work mind numbing.I got a fair amount of comm work from april 10 to august 10 at high prices then it went dead.I chased up most quotes i lost in the new year and most said i was far to expensive,so something seems to have changed in there mindset. This year has been better than i expected as many have said on here that jan/feb/march is pretty dead compared to the rest of the year. With this in mind i have quoted far lower than normal for office comm work this year and have got 6 decent commercial jobs since the begining of the year. To give you another example i'm doing a office job over the next 2 weekends(about 9000sqft) for just over £800,far less than i was getting last year, but if i pull my finger out will still work out at £20ish ph,some on here will scoff at that for working a weekend but as i look at it,there is no such thing as a weekend when you are self employed, just days off.The way i look at it,is we need to keep the work rolling in, in this climate, beats working at maccy ddddsssss anyway.
