insect yellow marks wfp help
« on: June 21, 2012, 03:40:05 pm »
Any1 seem to really struggle removing the tiny yellow marks (insect poo) off windows using wfp(especially tops)? They are so stubborn and on certain windows they might have up to 50 poos on! Was thinking about fitting some kind of soft scouring material on the side of my brush, any1 got any ideas? Im using a flocked gardiners superlight brush.

None of the brushes I have tried takes these off easily. On top windows I usually give a good scrub and soak and try to remove the worst by using the stock of the brush a a scraper - not ideal though.

stubborn stuff innit  ;D
i was thinking of some sort of chemical to dip the brush in? i have several jobs near to a keen bee keeper and they are a nightmare i trad the lot using a scraper and the scourer on the mop end after many attempts with wfp (vikan truckwash brush was the best and done twice but still not satisfactory).
keeps your hand in anyway  ::)

Had this problem too a few times last year, for all the time, trouble and aggro of trying to scrub it off  I soon learnt it took half the time to get my ladder out and trad it.

this is what i have resorted to but not happy doing this.  I'd love to find a solution also!

what about putting a micro fibre over the brush to scrub.

Also gardiners sell pads that fit on your pole as crank joint on brush has extra male fitting for these pads so swivel round and scrub.

Or as someone on here said loosen screws behind brush and stick in credit card to use as scraper; petrol stations give out them plastic loyalty cards ;)

I have a trad pole in the van.i simply pop my 4in unger scraper on the end and scrape off paint/insect poo etc if its stubborn.obviously make sure the window is nice and wet with pure first! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

i find the gardiners sl dual trim flocked standard brush good for scrubbing these marks off.great for snail trails as well!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

gardiners best brush for scrubbing IMO.
price higher/work harder!

Just use Magica One Go.
It will come off with ease.

Just get some of that green scotchbrite kitchen scourer and glue a piece the size of a postage stamp on each end of your brush.

Vince, what an excellent idea. I'm going to do that, cheers. It was worth reading the thread just for that comment.  ;D

It's a good idea but don't use the green scourers as it WILL scratch the glass, use the white ones

I have always used the green ones but you have to be careful because if the brush falls over any time (and they always do) you can pick up grit in the scourer and it will stay there for a long time

i do this also with trad pole and scapper and yes, dual trim medium brush will cut down the time too!

You must have good eyesight. Although I have to wear glasses typing this, my long view vision is perfect an I can't say that I have ever spotted insect poo from the ground on upper storeys. And I have never had a complaint about failing to remove it.
