your best bet is to drop the leaflets then wait a few days and then go back and re-knock the houses...

keep a few leaflets back for when your door knocking and make sure you give a leaflet to each person that answers the door - regardless if they have a WC or not each door me and my teams knock always leave with a flyer.....

Make sure you use bright/vivid colours on the flyers so they stand out from the rest of the flyers that go through other peoples doors.

Best way big bold writing on leaflets that is To the point and stands out you will get lots of work.then go back a few days later and knock.I done that today and got 71 quids worth of work in hour and half also quoted 5 others and driveway cleans too.
I'll be back out next week after my m8 delivers a couple  of thousand leaflets at the weekend.
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

Leafleting is a thankless job but it has to be done. So get out there and get them in letter boxes don’t give it to someone to do it for you .You need to meet new people. Open your eyes when you are out there chat to folk along the way you can ask about other  windies that might operate in that area. It could be over traded. AS MY AREA is well developed with many windies I am always looking for area were I think they might miss out .Like new houses.
What I do in some areas were I think there is business but I do get enough . I keep dropping them every month and every time I do this I get new business.
Finding new customer is the most difficult part of this business, cleaning glass is the easy part.
GOOD LUCK or should hard work mate. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

What I have found is the new houses are not much good there are normally window cleaners sat waiting for each house to go up go for the older stuff those who might need a choice or have a pants cleaner

Hi Earle, a good friend of mine is a graphic designer who works for Hertfordshire University, he did my leaflets for me and they are really good. Did them at a really decent price too.

I used http://www.printcarrier.com/gb to get them printed.

If you want his details fire me an email: jake182@gmail.com

Jake

I have A6 double sided full colour flyers on 250gsm and I pay £39 for 5,000 including delivery.

I use these 1-2-print.co.uk

You can design your flyers in Word and they will convert this to a printable PDF.

is there much difference between 250gsm and 350gsm, i would rather have a card to put through the letter box. when does it stop being paper and start being card?
