You can get a trolley system complete from pure freedom for a bit more than £800 - mine cost £1080, but i upgraded a bit.

They are a good reliable bit of kit in my limited experience. Much safer & a better finish than traditional (IMO)

Might be a bit of a mess about, but you could filter the water from eg - the bath tap, through the filters, directly into the 25ltr containers within the bath.

Not ideal, but it would work & get you started.

if you have been set up for more than a year and earned 16000 you could get a full system from ionic . basically credit over 3 years 8)

Where abouts are you? Some areas have soft water & if you can go DI only it will be cheaper & very quick to fill,...

Ok,.. can you fit an RO unit under your sink?
www.vyair.co.uk do a 400gpd pumped system for £200 +vat that has a very good pure/waste water ratio. If you could fill a water butt from the RO,.. transfer it to the van in 25 litre barrels maybe?

I'd recommend a CL-X from Gardiners for an excellent budget pole,.. and a DIY trolley would be a a good way to start. You can re-use the parts if you ever decide to go van mount,..

totally agree with all thats said here.
vyair 400 gpd ro is excellent £240 included vat
id suggest getting a esr16 backpack from john hewitt only about £120 or there 35 litre trolley for about £250 dont go down the xline/pure freedom trolley route, total waste of money, you will regret it,i definately did.plus you get rubbish poles and rubbish ro's!
get yourself a 18ft clx and a 27ft clx cost you about £250
then your ready to go.
get some cheap 25 litre bottles

Hi woody1,

i live in a flat and on a water meter

I'm not going to plug our product, but I would think that it would make sense to have some sort of flow control to conserve your water during the day in your situation.

Even an inline tap would save you some water, a trigger would probably save more, and then there are other options which you might consider later.

i live in a flat and also on a water meter and use around 1000-1200L  a week.my tap tds is usually around 35 so just a DI (i use a monster 25L vessel)and lasts me around 6 months before needing changing.

i have a hose from my bath tap, down my stairs to 10-12 barrels in the back of van.it takes me on average 40-50 mins in the evening after work to fill the barrels.

it works well for me and i bring my 50L P/F TROLLEY in every night for charging and DI and poles/extension hose if its sub zero at night with a thick duvet over my barrels.

its the best thing ive done for my business and im really getting into it after 10 months WFP! ;D ;D

itll be costly for you with such a high tds from your tap to go DI only but there again with a ro you ll have loads of waste water and itll take you ages to purify enough for work so your water bills would be sky high!! :-\ :-\

dont really know what the answer is unless you go di only and just wfp the tops.that would keep your resin usage down a bit(and use twin DI s IN TANDEM)

speak to phil at vyair and he can sort you with a softner to reduce your waste or maybe go without the ro and straight di after!
call him m8 or email him from off the site www.vyair.co.uk
he will sort you out without trying to rip you off like most of the other suppliers!
