Why on earth not?
Surely if you need to be 2 foot higher up this is the safest method practicably applicable, provided the short ladders are properly maintained?
I for one would be interested in both courses (ladder & WFP) but Newcastle and Leeds are quite a long way from us.
As a ladder user for many years yours are an interesting concept got to say have never come across this before, so there’s a first.
The issue would be stability, operative climbing to high but I cant really comment, as I have not used them?
The real issue is liabilities to you as an employer
HSE Guidance is clear in that you need to maintain three points of contact when climbing a ladder it also makes following reference
7 This refers to the type of work and its duration. As a guide, only use a ladder or stepladder:
On a ladder where you cannot maintain a handhold, other than for a brief period of time, other measures will be needed to prevent a fall or reduce the consequences of one.
http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg402.pdfI will get David in the office to check funding in Scotland for City and Guilds
This way we could build the courses around this activity and see if we can come up with a training module for you (part funded)
How many window cleaners have you got
Have you other companies that you know that could make a group of 20
