« on: January 25, 2011, 09:29:01 pm »
i was looking after my daughter today and the lads phoned from the unit to say there was a guy asking to buy a pressure washer as the lads had the unit shutters up they were open for every one to see in and as wer doing building work in there weve borrowed the empty unit next door to store all my equipment etc and that shutter was wide open too, anyway the guy was a bleeding pikey gave the lads sum speel about sumones robbed his gear out van so i had to warn the police to keep an eye on the unit tonite and to be fair they had been round 3 times since 5ish til 7ish!! not often iv got good word to say about them but to be fair they seem to be makin an effort for a change

We have the same problem here, theyre always driving round. Usually use some excuse to try to come inside with querry or been sent to see boss in office.

We got turned over 2 years ago, but, it was druggys i think they mainly trashed the place looking for cash. Actually smashed cupboard & filing cabinets open that were not even locked.

We lost pc, moniter & lots of small power tools. Left pressure washers & generator.

We was in the same boat as Ronnie all our customer info gone, but, luckily we had backup only a couple weeks old.

We then increased security, we have steel rear fire door, locks & bolts on roller door, Steel bared outer door for front door & new alarm. So hopefully we are alright now.

But, actually selling most of my stuff at minute on ebay, so nothing left to steal

If at all possible, when you have a unit with shutters, never leave them up , lots of guys are looking during the day for easy pickings.
It's happened to 3 people I know, leave there shutters up in the summer......few nights later......units busted in to , all machinery etc taken.

mrB
If in doubt.....Leave it out !!

I had a big run in with pykeys in 1993, best not go into detail, but had a sawn off shotgun pointed at my knees at me own front door.
Luckily he never pulled the trigger considering the abuse I was giving him.
I bloody hate them.

It wasnt funny at the time, but c,mon lads lets hear the jokes.. >:( ;D
