i think most policies on normal insurance is to and from one place of work, if your work is in various places like us lot on here then you do need insurance - you should tell your insure what job you do and that it will be used for work, i bet lots dont say its being used forwork, its only if you get stopped or have an accident,

If you use your vehicle for work you need commercial insurance. Don't think you can get away with saying you only use it from A to B it won't wash.

for me , trad commercial insurance was no higher than normal insurance. besides even on normal insurance you have to declare what your job is and even the slightest claim would be higher than getting the right insurance ,especially now that everybody claims for whiplash ,it could cost You tens of thousands

If you use a van then you need to make sure that you are covered for "Carriage of Own Goods". That will cover you wherever you travel. If you are using a car then you need to make sure you have "Business Use". All car insurance policies cover you for Social Domestic & Pleasure + Commuting to your normal place of work. For office workers this OK but in your game you need to travel to different places so you need "Business Use."
So it is possible that if you are carrying ladders on a car and you haven't got "Business Use" cover then the police could possibly pull you, but it's bloody picky if they do.
