Dry Fusion
« on: January 17, 2011, 05:27:31 pm »

Had a demo of dry fusion today and must say i was quite impressed. Very simple easy and quick. Now the decision of what to buy, will it be Dry fusion, thermadry or just go for a rotavac 360i. It will be for mainly commercial work. What would you go for?

Decisions????

The rotavac 360i is another tool in the HWE approach of course and I can see why you mention it.

As for the LM methods I think it is worth having a system to fall back on for those jobs you cannot wet clean (I turn down several each year), or for access issues (I have one coming up later this week which I have to do and will cause me problems) and to be competitive on commercial quotes.

I had a Dry Fusion demo last year and was impressed. I also know several really good firms who use it and I am a Woolsafe operator so that is the way I would go.

Yeah got one of those, lets face it, it's a lot slower than df and to be honest you don't get fantastic results. Was quite impressed with Mick Halidays op system but that seemed slow as well. Can clean up to 100 meters an hour with df.

I use a thirty year old exnavy 180 rpm rotary with a scrub pad for real dirt and finish with micrfibre onsite recyclable pads. Fusion Clean prespray. I used to do an office on top of New Sreet Station that was used by the railtrack engineers, with all the muck they brought in. Over 100 mt per hour and a good job done. Only drawback was the terrible access, it took us 3/4 hour to get the gear in.
Being semi retired I have stopped commercial work. 6 o'clock on a Sat morning no longer appeals.

Pads around £20 each, need 2 or 4 rinse as you work.  Solution worked out around £10 per job.
God must love stupid people---He made so many.

Hi Guys

I think Dry Fusion and Texatherm are O.K if you need someone to hold your hand but as someone who has high ranking dry carpet cleaning sites I can say that the customers do not specify either of these methods, they just ask for dry.

I call my method Dry 60, carpets clean and dry in 60 mins annd this allows me the freedom to use the chemicals I consider right for the job.

I do use the Texatherm heater and their pads but not usually their chemicals.

Cheers

Doug

I agree with Doug.

Rarely to systems include a great machine & a great product to work with.

Usually in the end you find a both from different manufacturers..

You will not clean 100sqm per hour around desks and if the carpet is dirty.  You will if its clean and open and you like working fast.

Sounds like a challenge for the LM boys on here.
