If the housings are gone so will the membranes therefore i reckon it's a new one

I don't know of any suppliers that list the housings seperatly, i got mine from WCW so it may be worth a call, but with membranes costing £120-140 + pre filter at £20 you are already over half way to a new one add in 3 housings at (guess) £15 your looking at £200 when you could probably get new for £235.00 - depending on who has an offer on.

if you google merlin ro you can get a parts list so you will know what to order.

This happened to me too :( - spent the last month taking good care of it and making sure it was warm and then through bad luck had to leave in the van for a day and the membrane is now cracked.
I filled up from an outside tap and it used to be very slow - like 6-8 hours to fill up a 250 litre tank. Pressure seemed alright but the merlin would probably shoot out 80/90% waste and only trickle the remaining 10% in too the tank.
Now going to change to an indoor system - with an indoor connector. Think the pressure will be less but if I get a 4040 unit - will the 500 litres per hour that its advertised be realistic to achieve - how does it do it - by filtering more water so waste is a lot less.
Also will carbon filters before the 4040 or a merlin 720 improve the water production rate (as well as keep membranes safe?)
Any opinions much appreciated,
Thank you,
Rob

my understanding is that 4040's are better made and of course larger so can handle the volume.

yes you should have carbon pre filters for both, this will keep the membranes in better condition for
longer.

is it possible to put just carbon filters / salt filters (i see cleaning spot / pure freedom sell these) in the housing of the 720 merlin system? - this would be instead of the RO system and i would connect the merling to a 4040 instead?
