Landline or mobile on the van
« on: December 30, 2010, 10:23:19 pm »
I can get the landline to divert to my mobile, but i live in a small area with about 5 different area codes in the space of about 12 miles. Will it put people off ringing a different area code?
                                                                                      Thanks Was.

No danger I'd dish out my mobile to a customer.

I'm 9-5 me.

you gonna love this suggestion - I think.

Have you ever heard of VOIP (voice over internet phone) ??

Try this company www.vonage.co.uk

For about 6 quid a month they will sell you a "landline" number with ANY area code you want then just put the phone on a permanant divert to your mobile so customer rings the "landline" number and without them knowing it goes to your mobile instantly.

All controlled from the web by you.

I have found from looking at the logs that new customers always call the landline first. (before it diverts)

Its a non geographical number,I use this company http://www.ttnc.co.uk/home.do a one off charge you can choose the area number yourself, it does cost you every time somebody rings but you dont have to worry about diverting.

A woman said to me that when she needed a w/c & a card popped through the letter box (b4 mine) - she was going to ring, but because no landline was listed, she felt uneasy about who she was allowing onto her property - mobile only could be unregistered & untraceable - landline gives customers some security & shows youre local(ish)

I was worried about that pure shine when I bought my mates round 29 miles away, but existing customers were fine and new customers are not bothered when they find out where I live. SAE no collecting there except maybe a quick run round after a days work there.

I'd like to put a landline on my van but it would need one heck of a reel to payout the cable the twelve miles to my farthest custy!  ;)
It's a game of three halves!
