Hi guys,

Am looking to get into the eco side of cleaning as I'm concerned about my health.
What would you guys recommend ?

There are a a number of manufacturers/suppliers that do "eco" stuff, though some will argue that they not really eco - but if you concerned about your health they worth a good look.

As a very good general pre spray you could try Nemesis from Restormate, Newcastle Upon Tyne
or M-Power from Solutions Cornwall.
I use both of those to good effect.

Solutions Cornwall do a good range of other eco products too, as do Prochem, Chemspec and others. Someone else will fill in with details.

If you are concerned about your health I would avoid any new products based on colloids. Go for products based on detergents that have been used for 30 years plus.

When Radium was discovered it was sold as a NEW health promoting product. Turns out people hair and teeth fell out and they died a slow death.

No one has died from soap.

I've tried various eco products and found them to be pretty disappointing. They're OK on carpets that are in good condition, but they take forever to have any impact on anything else.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've started a job with something like M Power or some of the Prochem natural stuff and ended up giving up and breaking out the more conventional products.

what concerns do you have?  I'm not sure that carpet cleaning has any more health risks than any other occupations so unless you have any existing health problems that is made worse by the chemicals we use I wouldn't bother.

Atomisation could causes problems (pre-spay) wear a mask and have stopped staff using air refreshers and some still insist beach is a cleaner
