Carrying gas in vans (a legal answer)
« on: December 22, 2010, 09:16:19 pm »
been looking at how to fit mushroom vents for van roof and came across this really useful piece of information. Page 2 of it even covers having stickers on vehicle about carrying gas. http://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=19187

If you're keen to find out more on the subject you may do well to read the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998..............
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/2451/contents/made

To be read in conjunction with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equiptment Regulations 1998)
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/2306/contents/made

Two interesting snippits i found was the fact that the L5 being a 'mobile' device is not classed as a gas appliance for the purposes of the Gas Saftey regs, although this does not exempt it from PUWER requirements. And the other is who is qualified to work on or install such equiptment........

Bit of a minefield to be honest.
