Has anybody in Manchester managed to work today trad or pole? I work in Manchester but live 20 miles away and was wondering if it's worth bothering, got pole and trad stuff I could be getting on with..  I have thrown water over my windows which froze instantly and also tried trading with no luck and that is with screen wash in...   So has anybody worked in manny today or are they going to tomorrow???

no kris!i live in salford and i tried my own windows at about 11am this morning with screenwash and it froze instantly.its been no higher then -6 all day.same forecast tommorrow.

Did you have your heating on pal, the reason I ask is because my house has so called eco windows in so just want to make sure that is not the reason its freezing.

the good news is after tommorrow we might get a 0 degree day on wed and thursday so ill get a bit done before my 2 week break!

Wednesday says - 5 now  So don't know whats gonna happen n that day either, why did the weather have to choose this week to be bad?

I don't mind pal I'll let you have that one  , i got one son who is a mad city fan in his room watching the match and the other who is a mad utd fan playing on his xbox hoping city. Don't win, if city win I wont hear the end of it   : , your right just gonna tAke one day aT  a time and hope for the best, you have to save for rainy days when you work for your self, or snowy dAys as the case may be..

YEP TOO RIGHT KRIS!!ive been window cleaning for 17 years and ive never known the weather to be this bad in all that time!!it seems to me we re going back to the winters i remember as a kid!!


im off to new york for a week on monday!!hope the airports get their act together by then!!

where in stocky mate i work there ??

i did one job, went there at 10 am , frozen solid, went back at 12 and did the bottoms as sun had been on them , made 40 quid then a school i do through holidays got closed early as too cold so went there and started insides, on them again tomorrow, after that if weather is still like this think im buggered, gonna try do downstairs and internals off the custies that are due but cant think of anything else, and thats if the water will stay liquid, -12 when i got in car today

wed thurs is supposed to be better highs of 1/2 degrees.
been liverpool today struggled so did all the communal internals and had the scheme manager sign o couple of the jobs off has complete

then did two care homes in tameside.

you have just try your best somewindows it will freeze some it wont, regular bioling water and perserverence(havent a clue how to spell)

either that or the lads dont get paid

what can we do though?i just think at times like this how fortunate i am in other respects.good health,money in the bank and good family and friends.

Its been a nightmare for me in ni also, the last spell of snow i was off almost 2weeks and ive been off since friday now with the recent spell.  Lost out on all the tips to basically 3 weeks behind now.  Tried this morning but the water was just freezin on the glass....
