From a good day today, to a nightmare tonight.!
« on: December 20, 2010, 11:50:45 pm »
Had a great day with the heating element making for lovely warm water... did a full days work,

i thought i had sorted it all out and beat this freeze,...heater in the van, hot water ....

But, no...... got home tonight, attached hose to ro... and smash !!!

2 filter housing smashed to bits ... which are in my van....

They were not insulated , and i thought with the warm van they would be ok ... ::)
Is there no end to this?,......

i also think in future i will have my Ro in  the garage, with a direct water link ,  instead of my outside garden hose reel  , around the back of the house... which i have to unwind and put in the van as it freezes if i leave it during the day ( its a swivell wall mount , so i cant take the reel inside )

How do you guys fill your tank..?and where is the ro... and your water tap?

Rant over  ::) :o

You`ll be ok, your RO won`t freeze in the garden.

Anyone ??

 ;)

Was the same as you i.e. outside tap and hose to ro in van ... thought i be clever and shifted ro into garage with ibc static and paid a plumber mate to fit tap inside garage ... guess what -10 here last night and everything froze in garage inc tap .... so disconnected my ro and di vessel and both now in bath so no system at all now (only take a few mins to re connect) not taking a chance with these temps anymore
