Luton van for TM
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:26:04 am »
Does anyone use a luton bodied van for there TM? I think it would be good, lots of room, big sides for signs. Not much bigger than a normal lwb van so parking isnt that much more difficult. And they're cheap as chips! Is there a reason why nobody seems to use them?

Hi

I saw an 07 new shape Ducato for £4500 the other day, it had 117,000 miles on it though.

Looked good value to me.

i would say depending on where you mount it, keeping it cool might be a problem but only guessing. it would have to be mounted right at the back where the door is, them lutons get real hot in summer. just something to consider.

I thought the heat would be the problem. You can get a roller shutter door on the side, this would help.

Let's face it, they use 7.5 ton lorries in the States.  We have a jumbo transit and a swb transit (very different machines in the back) and overall I would go for the jumbo.  We are quite rural so a jumbo or a Luton in town may be difficult.

If you have heavy kit (RX20, back up portable, curtain machine, big dehums etc) the Luton may be a no go area if your back is like mine.
