When you do a job and you find out where they work, if it's a place like NHS say you will knock 10% of their bill. Just as you going give them a flyer and ask if they would put it up in their dept notice board offering 10% off. Some will some won't but over time you will be glad you did this.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

do any of you actually know the NHS dis'c website he's on about?   or are the replies just the normal knee-jerk reaction to any post about sales calls?

I agree with you all but I would advice Ryan to look further into the details, My wife is part of the NHS and gets 1-2 emails a week from their discount scheme which we always read as we see it as a trusted source

this is the one we received yesterday

http://recp.mkt41.net/servlet/MailView?m=36027647&r=NjI4Nzc4OTYxMwS2&j=ODgxNDMxOTUS1&mt=1

if they are sending a link to your website in these emails then it might be worth looking at.

Its a knee jerk reaction with me Mike.
Get so many selling discounts via diaries or whatever to police/fire/nhs/doctors surgeries/tesco supermarkets and some more, that you get fed up - and certainly aint got time to check out the credentials of them all, so they all get treated the same way.

Someone put the idea forward that if you find the person is employed by a service that appeals to your good nature - give a 10% discount. Thats an easier solution.

All trusts have a buy/sell/ services section , my wife just goes on it and advertises, when I get a job off it I tell them they can have a discount if they too put me on the intranet

It is an INTRANET , meaning internal use only on the NHS system , most large organisations have them.
It is thier own private world. What fun it would be if anyone had access to the NHS intranet , you could see all your neighbours health records, every peronal detail of everyone in the country..

I have agreed to give a discount to a NHS scheme did not cost me a penny

I think its a benefit for staff or something  else. I cannot remember what it was called

Has it worked

No

Obviously no such thing as a Free lunch

We are on the NHS staff dicount website.
Apparently a satisfied customer put a reccommendation on there and we have had a fair amount of work from it.
Never cost us anything in time nor money though!
