connny roofs
« on: November 20, 2010, 05:04:07 pm »
hi all , got a few roofs to do , got my backpack and tfr ready . ive read on here to water down the tfr and spray it on roof , leave for ten minutes and rinse off with backpack . two questions - how do i spray the tfr on ( ive got sprayer from b & q but dont see how i can reach whole roof with it ) ? and is it ok to scrub and rinse with wfp as worried tfr will contaminate the brush ? ???

As long as you pump enough pressure into the sprayer and adjust it to "stream" rather than "mist" it will reach, you might have to use a step ladder for the very top when scrubbing! Dont worry about contaminating the brush with tfr it rinses itself after a few mins  :)

you could do, but TFR needs to stay on the surface for a few minutes to work. So I always find it is better to spray first, then scrub

I always add a squirt of upvc restorer cream to the brush aswell otherwise you won't get the frame work looking its best with just tfr.

Yes it works very well particularly if you use fan jets, you don't need a dedicated backpack cos the tfr can be flushed out quite quickly. Also use customers outside tap connected to the wfp brush gives a better rinse and then final rinse with pure if needed (windows/glass roof). If you want to let the tfr dwell you can still apply it with the backpack/wfp and leave for a few mins.

Cut the very end off your sprayer, leaving the trigger part on, slide some microbore over secure with jubilee then add a female connector , this can then be joined to your pole so you can apply tfr  or UNICLEAN to facias etc,

i was thinking i dont fancy putting tfr in my barrels and pumping it through my trolley!im thinking it might damage the pump and/or there might be some residue left that will spot the glass when i go back to using the trolley for window cleaning.

i am interested in anything that will get the tfr on the roof without having to dip brush in a bucket as its a bit time consuming.

The 1.5 Lt pump up sprays we do, are great for pumping unIclean to con/facia etc, with a connector attached so can retrofit your pole.

not the wfp backpack .... and its easy to stand on small ladder with it on your back,.. and spray the whole thing in a couple of mins.
