Hole in tank
« on: November 18, 2010, 11:39:11 pm »
Right, when doing my new van install the other day, I have put a 6mm hole through the side of my tank. I am working tomorrow so need to plug this up on the morning.

Any ideas on how to go about it?

Cheers in advance....  :)

Was just think of a screw with a lot of epoxy glue/silicone or what ever the stuff is around the thread.

Half way up a 350ltr tank lol....

Only noticed it this evening, so It needs to be plugged quickly in the morning  :-\ ....

As said use a self tapper if poss. Then cover top  with fernox lsx. It's a small tube of repair silicone. it will prob be ok without the screw even. Buy it in plumb center or similar for around a fiver. Nothing better. Also don't use a cheap screw it will rust.

try a nut and bolt and two rubber washers,
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Drill the hole bigger and fit a bath plug, from the inside or the water pressure will force it out.  ;D ;D
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.
