Water Heater
« on: November 18, 2010, 04:33:11 pm »
I have been looking for an immersion type water heater for safe use during bonnet cleaning.

This will be used to keep the solution up to a decent temperature in my pad bucket.

All I can find are dodgy looking foreign ones.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get a safe and reliable one?

You could try these out, might need a little modification to keep the pads off the bottom of the tank but that's easiliy done

We use a standard 11" 3kw immersion heater fitted into a kentucky bucket.
You can buy these from any plumbing suppliers or even Screwfix.
You need to buy the thermostat as well so that you can set the temperature to what you require.
We wire them into an rcd plug for safety.
The biggest problem you will have is finding the back nut to screw it to the bucket.
Not many suppliers stock them as the heater is normally screwed direct into a water tank.
We have used these for years and on a commercial job they are worth there weight in gold.
