advice on poles please

just getting in to the wfp world
 bought a second hand pole its ok,4 sections,i think its glass fibre/fibre glass
the problem i find if i come across a conny or extention running across the back of the house its not really long or strong,it probably is strong its just me thinking its going to break,so what lenght and make/supplier would you recommend
