Shut off valve
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:16:46 pm »
Bought a solution hose shut off valve from Restormate which
came today.
Expected a male coupling to clip onto female on solution line
and a female to couple up to tools.
What I got was a male and female threaded coupling so what's
the score?

John, the shutoff valve fits between the end of your hose and the quick connect.
you simply unscrew the quick connect from the ferule on the end of the solution hose. Screw the shutoff valve onto the solution hose ferule. Then screw your quick connect onto the shutoff valve. Use thread tape on threads.
What you are describing would cost a lot more and would make the end of the hose exceptionally heavy.

Yeah will do Mark.
They were very good, bought a replacement part at the
same time for a sprayer with a fault, got them both
postage free and next day i.e today.

Thanks for that John that's what I figured.
That means though that you use the same length
every time and can't chop and change.
See what you mean though.

And mine is Ashbys vac and solution hose, don't know
if you know the implications of that?
