Major rug browning problem
« on: October 02, 2010, 07:53:55 pm »
Hi all,

I was asked by a customer to clean a rug offsite so i brought it home to clean. It is a very thick pile, 100% wool. I cleaned it and extracted as much moisture as possible but noticed when it was drying it turned brown quite quick. As this was the case I recleaned then rinsed with a debrowning solution I got from Extracta and put my turbo dryers on it but noticed as it was drying it was turning brown again quite badly. I then hit upon the idea of spraying the debrowning solution on then drying but yet again as I was turbo drying it began turning brown again!

By the way when the debrowning solution is sprayed on it turns brilliant white but as its drying it turns brown even with the turbo dryers on it.

Can anyone help as I am beginning to panic a bit here!

Many thanks, John

Hi John,

Try extracting with prochem fibre and fab, then give it a good misting over with some white vinegar.

Regards,

Paul

I agree, after the clean mist with an acid rinse, I know of people who don`t carry it on board, but just occasionally it can save your bacon !!!! ( And you wallet )

What did u clean it with in the first place?
I would apply the oxi brite, fibre buff, fibre shampoo remedy, it should solve the problem.

I'd try the cheaper option first. Then maybe go down this route.
