Anyone had one from the big Yellow book?

I mean a straight discount not a f'k up discount which they offer when they f'k up when the book is out.

Not had that Shaun , but when I stopped paying my DD a couple of months ago, after having paid half the annual amount, they phoned me up.
They had given me a 10% discount after getting two digits in my phone number the wrong way round, resulting in no work from this years YP. No matter how much I protested they would offer no more, saying it was my fault for not checking the proof properly, even though I had given them the ad on a CD.
I suggested that it was fifty, fifty then, my mistake and their mistake, but they wouldn't budge.
I decided to pay half then stop paying.
This is what I did, hence their telephone call.
How was I going to make good the missing payments they asked. I'm not I told them, I had stopped payments deliberatly. After going through it all again with their caller. I told them that if they wanted to pursue me for the rest of the money, I was willing to explain my case in the courts and take my chance.
The line went dead for a while, then he came back on and said that they should have done better and that they would waive the rest of the payments.

No but I have got changes to adverts without paying for it. I will be pushing very hard at renewal though as they know they are really up against it. I will be expecting them to offer a good package to keep me in the book, enquiries have dropped since last year wher it actually did quite well for me.

Well .... didn't get a discount but they did say that they hadn't put their prices up from last year ! What you do get extra in with the price !!!! is

118247
Yell.com (basic listing)
4 months free Google adwords in their site format

Watch out though, they start wanting to charge you for the extras on a seperate cost centre and straight away and YP from normal start date, I declined this and wanted it all in one so I can check my costings each minute month, what ever she did the rep added it up wrong as it came to £200 more than last year so I pointed this out to her, I will be hawk eyed with my bank statement !!

Remember it's supposed to be the same price as last year.

Hi Dave, how's the plates of meat?

Shaun

Shaun, you been talking to someone I know!?
They are getting better with the help of a strategically placed soft pad. I was okay until I got to Yorkshire then it was like walking on hot coals.
