problems, need tm advice
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:27:31 pm »
getting a pulsation from the solution pipe, rang smart mart at hydramaster, and he told me its the header pump, (think thats what he called it, got six brass bolts on it, take em off and clean the plastic thingymagingies out, took em off but couldn't get the placky things oot. didn't want to force em. what do i do once the brass bolts are out?

ps... just taking the bolts out and cleaning them cured it a little bit but its back again now, and martins off air for the weekend. could do with having a go on sunday.

take of the 6 brass nut and take out the 6 valves, they look like this.... they will take a bit of a wiggle to get them out.

suck the flat end it should not allow any air through it it leaks then its faulty, they might just have got a bit of grit in holding the cup open so causing pulsation, just give then a rinse under the tap

right. think ive got it.

in your picture mike, would i be right in saying the one on the left is the way i would see it after removal of the brass bolt, mine looks like that but has a nipple on the top, was gonna get some pincers on it and pull it out but was worried about putting marks on the plastic bit. if you get what i mean, there in there quite tight, only the plastic bit wiggles a little.

yes the one on the left. as you look into the hole you will see a 'cross' with a nipple in the middle, the stainless steel ring on the right hand one  is what goes in first, this is what you suck on to check it creates an airtight seal

you should be able to touch the nipple with your finger and push it side to side, then once its loose get some long nose pliers and pull it out

Colin - you'll be disappointed.   That's all they are with a few extraneous attachments
