I've used one for 4 years. 3.5 without a booster pump and the rest with.
My tap tds is 236 and without booster it went to 004 but it was slow. With booster it's 001 and produces 125 ltrs an hour.
I've changed the top filter twice and that's it.
I would recommend the booster pump as it produces water quicker and I use it to transfer the pure water to my van.

Hang on i got one of these merlin things , not sure if its the 720, i know its old and the membranes have to be shot before resin the tds was coming out at 30/40, (tds 200)

i had got it with the van never really used it much just got a reverse osmosis insted.

I might take a look at it again i remember it was fast as hell , faster then my 200gpd with a booster (althou im pretty happy with my current unit)

Instant water sounds fun

No,
You'll be lucky to get less than 30tds unless you got high water pressure

Tds is 75 and water pressure is high, I need instant pure water so I thought merlin would be ok  :-\

With booster pump my water pressure is 70. I run my merlin for 5 mins before I put the water into my tank.
Like prev post tap tds 236 out of merlin after 5 mins is 001.
Not sure if that is instant enough but I have no complaints after 4 years.

Although merlins can produce high yields and purish water in some circumstances, they aren't the cleanest of ROs.  A resin bottle is usually advisable.  Merlin not ideal if on a meter either due to high waste levels.
The best I've ever got from a merlin is 006 - though pressure wasn't ideal.
Currently running around 30/32 from RO  (tap TDS c.200) but part of that is because I restrict the waste due to being on a water meter.

I have a Merlin too. Not bad but lots of waste which is not good when your on a meter like me. I try and use water from ibc tanks though. Last few weeks they fill up no sooner as I empty them.
