tds help?
« on: August 29, 2010, 07:45:37 pm »
i have just chanced resin in by twin di setup. First goes into my merlin from 360ppm and comes out at 40ppm then after resin its comeing out at 6 i tested it from both di canisters and both were 6. I dont understand why this could be all inlets and outlets are correct. The di vessels are 3 years old so is it possibe that the problem lies in them?.

Im hopeing someone has had same prob and can help me out.

do you have carbon and sendiment filters in the filteration system? usually 10 or 20 inch and usually in blue pplastic housing. The resin is for polishing off.

Try flushing your system for an hour and see what the difference is.

How old is the merlin ? Could the filters need changing on that ?

Also how old is the resin in the DI ?
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

i only just changed the resin but the sack was opened about 4 months ago. Also how do you flush a merlin i have never done that. I changed pre filter about 2 months ago but never the membrains in 3 odd years but ppm has always been the same out the ro.

if merlin is your ro unit then - my ro unit is a pure freedom one

to flush the ro
i have a valve (gate valve type) with red wheel handle and its clockwise to fill and anticlockwise to flush - same process just make sure it locks up tight in either direction. the valve sits at the base near and at the base of the ro unit. when filling it will make a hissing sound initially - need to turn on the solenoid on mine for this process.

dont know off any diff systems so otherwise cant help.
