pressure washer vs water fed pole
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:44:04 am »
hi did a job yesterday, fascia and gutter clean.did the tops with wfp and bottoms with pressure washer.i noticed that the results with the wfp better than the pressure washer.i did pre sprayed the gutters and fascias with fenwicks caravan cleaner from halfords left it for 10-15 min and pressure washed and i could still see some black runs on the fascia .i returned with the brush and they cleaned better .although with the pressure washer took me at least half the time than wfp.
any tips for the future?it was firts time i used a pressure washer for gutters and fascias.

Doesnt it make a mess everywhere when using a pressure washer? It must go over cars, walls, plants etc..not to mention neighbours stuff? :o

I call this the "windscreen wiper effect".
No matter how hard it rains it will never clean the dirt off the glass on your car, but run a wiper over it to dislodge the dirt and it will come up clean, its the same with the brush.
A pressure washer will only clean off the larger dirt but wont touch the stains and dirty film that builds up. You need to dislodge it and get it into solution before it can be rinsed away.
I sometimes use a pressure washer on facias to get into all the dificult areas and remove the heavy stuff if its really bad, but then polish it up with wfp.

I would say the best method is to use the pressure washer and just scrub the bits that don't clean up with the brush. Job done  8)

I am actually considering using a pressure washer as well as wfp.

Hopefully it will be quicker cleaning up fascias and soffits.

Not only that I have also been asked to clean patios and driveways, although may need to find out the average cost of doing this.

Has anyone on here considered doing the above?  If so, how much?

Kind regards. :)
