Assistance with CFR Perfect Heat
« on: June 23, 2010, 07:45:52 pm »
Good evening

I bought the CFR Perfect heat from Andrew Briscoe, a while ago now and to be honest I haven't used it at all. It has been stuck in the unit gathering dust as I get on top of my commercial works and develop another window cleaning business.

Got it out today and started to clean a lining of a car boot with it. It seems a little noisy when spraying the solution and I am not confident that both of the vac pumps are working. One is fine but nothing on the second one.

Are there any members who are relatively local to the Alton Towers area that wouldn't mind me bringing it over for them to confirm that it is all okay or that if it needs a couple of things, what they are and where to pick them up from.

I bought it from Andrew as a working machine and this post in no way implies that he sold me a dud - he didn't!!! but it has sat in a cold unit for quite some time and I would just like someone with a bit of experience to offer some knowledge.  Anyone??

Just to add - when pressing the trigger the pump is kicking in intermittently (???) and I would have expected it to kick in when the trigger is pressed and then to stop when the trigger is released but it is running over - is this building back up to pressure??

Hi Rob, sorry to hear you are having problems, it was a great machine.
Maybe it needs wiring checked for loose wire or something regarding the vac.

As for the pump, now and again i woud put an open ended hose onto connection
and run it for a minute or two, ensuring machine dosnt empty, sounds like it is purging,
this worked for me, when it happened occasionally.

Just to add i only sold it as i picked up a Scorpion secondhand, which at the
time where as rare as hens back teeth  :)

Could the machine have been damaged by frost.
Amtech are the main dealers you could ring them.

Andrew

The frost could have well got into it last winter. I didn't really want to send it off but if needs must then I will get it fixed this way.

I was hoping that Chris Rushton might have been on, he lives relatively local to me. Thanks Andrew.

The pump should run constantly whether the trigger is pressed or not. When the trigger isn't pressed the pump flow is directed by the pressure relief valve back to tank.

You could try priming the pump as the differing sounds you hear may be air trapped in it. You need a short length of hose with the same Q/R fitting on it as the solution hose (your local hydraulic supply company will make you one for about £10) and then you need to run the pump for about 3 minutes with the pressure set to zero.
