do they do a version that will work on microsoft works spreadsheet?
No, it requires Microsoft Excel. (At least version 2002. If you have Excel 2007 or 2010 even better)
how best to use it on my android phone? (htc hero)
i've got full docs2go so can create/edit excel files on the device, though from comparing, it is easier to look at it in full screen on the laptop than on a handheld device. not sure if i would want or need to 'look' at the round info while working as i know it so well..
i bet i could input my whole round into roundtracker without looking at my book.
can you synic with a pda.? Like having your round in your pocket just like george.
Here's a screen shot of how it looks on an iphone.

You can obviously move around the page and if you use iphone do all that cool finger expanding and collapsing stuff..
(This is a 'snapsot' of the Home page. The first column showing the jobs as Late, the second by how many days it is late, the last rescheduled date entered, the blank yellow column would show an outstanding amount value, the other blank one whatever you want to use it for, the last done date and then name of job etc. - basically you can copy right across to the calendar if you want. )
Note: I recommend just using the handheld device for reference and not for updating info etc. (Though you could do that if you have mobile office and transfer the data to a blank unprotected worksheet. - Just too much faff to update on a device in my opinion. Time is precious whilst you are out working. Only takes a minute on desktop when you get back to base. I personally print the worksheets, use them just for reference then update when get back. The screen shot shows that rather than printing you can have it on your device for reference. )
The way I recommend to use RTv4 PRO on any handheld device with an internet connection is to copy the whole range of cells from the Home page, Job List or Income History pages and paste them directly into an email. You can then view a 'snapshot' of the Home page, or Income History on your device by opening the email.
They are not editable like this but it's quick to do and gives you a reference if you need to check something when you are out and about.
