Karndean is a Vinyl tile. It has a factory finish clear surface. Over time this wears and starts to look dull. Karndean and Amtico which is similar can be finished with an emulsion polish. Give it a thorugh clean preferably with a rotary, never anything harsher than a red pad or brush. Suck up the gunge or mop thoroughly then just apply 2 coats of polish, Polishes are available in matt, satin or gloss. Once polish is applied it will need to be periodically stripped and re-applied.

With respect John its not supposed to have a shine is it?

Its supposed to be a satin finish, both the Karndean and Amtico finish are satin and not gloss.

I have a customer with 400m2 of it in a massive house and I allways use Karndeans Dimglow and I allways use a green pad to get the crud off. Looks great when its done and they are so pleased they have me in twice a year as Karndean recommend.

Just by a pure fluke did a spot removal for a custy passed on by a carpet shop last month, saw they had Karndean down, got talking about it and he gave me 2 bungalows of over 70m2  to do for him. Whoopee!

But I  allways use Karndeans own product 'Dimglow' and Amtico (ok Johnsons in a bottle if its been down a few years), on new floors,  if there is a prob with fitting etc and they go back to manufacurer, they send a rep out and the floor is glossy they will just walk and say thats the wrong finish, end of.

If a floor has been down for a few years and its grotty I offer them the 'Flash advert look' all glossy but they  mostly say they prefer the way it should be, satin.

Regards
