whats a fair price to loan a van and system out
« on: August 13, 2010, 05:13:42 pm »
i have an 03 transit 12 months tax and mot on it with an 800 litre facelift system in the back what would be a fair price to rent it out to some one, its pretty surplus to requirements at the moment. the person im considering renting it too is a member on here and a good friend so want realistic amounts as i dont want to rip him off but also want to get a good deal from it.i know it will help him out with his work a great deal.im lookin at a weekly figure as im not sure how long the arrangement will be for

cheers richy

First of all how is it to be insured?

Then plucking a figure out of the air I would go for a £50 a week excluding water supplied by you. He puts right any damage.
It's a game of three halves!

10 - 20% of his weekly earnings (variable from week to week and based on trust) is fair. 8)

like it is said  who wil be insuring it,  who supplies water  parts of it breaks,  etc,

as might vary from 50 a week to 200 if you are doing everything on it  ie resin etc

if it was my van i would want £100 per week without a doubt.

wear and tear to vehicle etc, tyres, mileage

thats only £20 per day & he could make that cleaning 1 house

its already been said, he is wanting a figure based on it being rented out with all insurances and wear and tear costs factored in....my estimate is around 10 to 20 percent per week or day....a good window cleaner will turn over around 200 to 300 quid a day (much more if you are exceptional like me 8) so that should give him a return of at least 20 quid a day..or 100 a week...at least ;)

if he rented it to me he would only get a fiver a day on your method though :D and that is if i was truthfull

£100 a week seems a decent price. Fair to both.
