Hi Guys

Best buy I have made in the last 3 months, the Live services are really good and a big help in sorting out the fastest route.

Continual updates keep you abreast of developing delays and will reroute you if you wish.

Cheers

Doug

Hi Joe

I think it's about 250 and that includes 12 months Live services, then it's about 4 pounds a month, save that in fuel after a couple of days!

Cheers

doug, don't forget we live in the fast lane that is the south, these guys who live north of watford gap live in the slow lane, chewing the cud with everyone and drinking copious amounts of tea and coffee all day with customers, we southern softies don't have time for that sort of thing. a tom tom would be wasted on northern folk,

Yeah TomTom's are great, never tried the Live services. Think it depends how much travling you do or how big your service area is for it to make the most differenace.
Having said that its only £4 a month so cant go wrong.

Hi guys

Good example last week, i was travelling from Epping to Chafford Hundred.

M11, M25 A13 easy peasy!

Started off, live came up with a delay on M25 before A13, 1 min, no problem but worth watching.
By the time I had got to the A127 junction delay was now 21 mins, obvioulsy major problem, off at A127 down A128, delay 2 mins as it's a slower route.

This meant I turned up on time at job, finished by 4.30 and was home by 5 ish.

Cheers

Doug,

You just have to be careful that it doesn't try and re-route you down some obscure lanes and side roads, so it's worth viewing the route once it has been selected.

Presumably comes into its own on the major A roads and not just arterial routes in large towns-a bit like a personalised Radio 2 traffic news as opposed to local radio traffic?

If anyone interested in the Tom TOm Live, Ideal World pick of the day which started at 9pm Sat night, is a TT Live European with 12 months Live included and a £20 RedLetter Day voucher. Price reduced to £169.99.

Looks like I am going for a Navman Mio Spirit at around £112.

Hi Guys

Simon, I learnt with my original Tom Tom to ignore some of the more obscure requests, a fully laden TM doesn't really want to be on a windy track!

The beauty of the Live services is you can set the post code of the first job, check for any problems, and then have breakfast or alternatively if big problems, skip breakfast and head out on an alternative route.

It's one of those things which once youv'e had you won't want to get rid of. Well worth 170 .

Cheers

Doug
