Shirt Sponsorship
« on: July 23, 2010, 09:38:48 pm »
Hi Guys,

Any of you good people used shirt sponsorship as a marketing tool?

I'm currently considering a couple of option's, one is a local ladies hockey team, approx 80% of my calls are from women, the second option is for my local semi pro rugby league team, plenty of paper coverage in local press, action shots in three/four times a week minium, web link, replica shirt sales etc, and not as expensive as you may think.

If any of you have tried this was it, in your opinion, money well spent?

Simon.

i did it with my old business, computer and printer consumables, only sunday league. just a bit of fun, no return but enjoyed doing it and would consider doing it again but certainly not for financial gain.

I sponsor a local scottish amateur boxer champion, he just got beat for the British title last week. He is only 15 and has a big  future in the sport. I dont get any work through it but i do get enjoyment from going to watch the fights. Who knows if he does get big in the sport it might pay off  ;) I think you need to enjoy the sport that you sponser and get the pleasure out of it rather than look for any return in you investment. Also, put it through your tax claim if you do.

Ditto Sunday football league team. I did get a little bit of work from a couple of players but nothing to make it a financial viability.

Hi Guys,

With regard the hockey team, the financial outlay would be buying the kit, fully badged with company logo front and back, approx £250.00, £20.00 behind the bar for the player of the match every home game £200.00, I wouldn't need to pick up too many jobs to get the investment back, the club is in a quite affluent area.

The RL club is not a great deal more money, there is a good chance of a live SKY tv game next year, they had one last season but not this season so due one, with replica shirt sales of about 600 my thinking is it would raise company profile.

So many ways to spend money, should really concentrate at making some!
