anyone know how to go about getting a crb certificate

as we are getting a few calls from schools who insist on employees having them...

http://www.crb.homeoffice.gov.uk/

We have just had the in depth ones done to work in childrens homes and also we had a normal one done to work in a financial institution, on both occasions the client arranged and paid for them.

i clean 2 nurseries and a private childrens home and ive NEVER been asked for a CRB check!!

mind you ive only ever cleaned the outside windows on these.

ive been cleaning the nurseries for over 10 years now.apparantly it doesnt apply unless you actually clean the inside of the property.

also ive never once been asked for risk and method statements on ANY of my commercial jobs! ;)

If that is the case it just goes to show what a pointless waste of time and money it all is. A peodophile could be working in school/nursery grounds without any checks  :o

Dazmond,

it doesnt matter if your in the building or outside the building - you are on their premises.

Spot on, daz you should definatly have a crb check mate, the nursery is breaking the law as anyone that works on the premises of such things as nurseries and schools should be checked or escorted by a member of staff that has been checked

It does matter daz , not bein funny mate but they should pay for it as well. If I found out someone worked at my lads nursery that either worked there without a crb check or was left unnattended on the premises then I would report them, I know what your sayin about they have nothin to worry about but what happens if they do it with everyone that goes to work there?

I used to work with a lad (from warrington actually so u may of heard it in the paper there) an he was sound, no issues no nothin, he has just been to court as he was found buyin kids videos on the net, also he had 33k photos an videos on his computer. No one suspected this at all.

By the way and in all honestly I'm in no way linkin this to anyone on here. I'm just pointin out that procedures are in place to protect people
