Rid-a-Gum worked well for me and it's less volatile than some other solvents.

Hi Giys

Lewis glues will vary enormously but are many are difficult/impossible to remove even with solvents .

As routine I have acetone, isopropanol, white spirit, Chemspec Pog, turps, turps substitute, dichloromethane(Nitromors) and will try these using sparingly, remeber if it's not going to dissolve with a little it's not going to with a lot.

Be carefu; not to let the solvent attack the backing, particularly if bitumen.

The pile will be pretty chemically resistant.

Cheers

most flooring distributor sell an aerosol adhesive removing solvent which is specifically designed to break up. Many adhesives are solvent specific and even with something like sign-writing vinyl adhesive what will break up one manufacturer's adhesive will be ineffective on another.s.
The aerosol is a useful addition to your vans armoury.

You could use steam to soften the glue.
