need new methods of payment
« on: July 02, 2010, 11:09:14 am »
when i started and it was just myself and didnt have many customers using sae seemed a good way of collecting, now i have staff cash flow is turning out to be a nightmare with this method, what other methods would u all suggest that are easy to setup i should really go out collecting and phoning round have £1000 owed in at mo off 59 customers.

the obvious ones are

paypal
direct debit
bacs
internet banking
asking them to leave cheque/cash out when ring nite before

what methods do u all find the best as its stressing me out bigtime

just go get the cash of them,  when they are cleaning leave a note telling them when u will be back  ie saturday between 10 - 11

i have gone over to pay pal, and found that half forget to pay

I use internet banking payments, nochex and also they can send a cheque or leave payment out. I do not collect unless the debt ends up mounting up. I have a couple now that owe 3 cleans, 2 is normally my limit, but these have always paid before. Had one who owed 2 cleans pay up yesterday after i chased the debt for 4 months, needless to say they are now binned,I had about given up on them, but kept calling when I cleaned the street. I will end up collecting the ones who owe me 3 cleans and then consider whether i want to keep them as I believe collecting is dead time. I offer numerous ways to pay so If they cannot be arsed then neither can I.
To answer you question I find internet banking to be one of my best methods, closely followed by them sending me a cheque (obviously payment on cleaning is pretty high too). Nochex gets used by a small few, but to be honest thats how I like it as it charges me to use it (beats collecting though).

Why not have a card machine at home ? Just ring them and take details. Will cost you for the machine and a fee, but saves going out chasing them.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go
